The most important How To is PLAN! Get your plan in writing! I go so far as to use Microsoft Project to plan out what date what task will be completed. I draw out my yard, place the items and lights where I want them and build my display from these plans. If you are going to program a light display, you need to plan and work on the display for months before you have everything synchronized properly.

Our light show consists of 5 Light-O-Rama controllers which supply us with 80 channels to synchronize. We us software also purchased form Light-O-Rama to sync to the music. We have over 15,000 lights under control. Plus we have ?? lights in our site yard. In 2009 just under 1/2 of our lights are LED. The LED lights use about .1 (one tenth) of the amount of power of a traditional incandescent lamp. If you are going build a show, start buying LED's!!!

Another important item you need to be aware of is where you get your music. I cannot stress the importance to buy your music. DO NOT illegally download your music! You can purchase any song you want for .99 cents online. On the other hand a free download could cost your $10,000 in legal fees.
